About the PositionAs a member of our Sales Department, the Product Support Representative is responsible for working with customers and mechanics on a day-to-day basis to achieve profitability, growth, and account penetration. Fairchild Equipment takes pride in our Core Values and welcomes individuals who share and demonstrate those values. This is a full-time, exempt outside sales position based out of our Moorhead, Minnesota branch.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain existing business and generate new business within the assigned territory of North Dakota.
- Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current customers.
- Promote, sell, and secure orders for products and services.
- Demonstrate products and services that best meet customer needs.
- Develop proposals and quotations for current and prospective customers.
- Collaborate with Service, Parts, and Rental Departments to support customer needs.
- Establish new and renew existing Fairchild Operational Maintenance (OM) Agreements.
- Analyze territory potential and assess the value and opportunities within existing accounts. Plan and organize personal sales strategies to achieve goals and objectives. Provide management with reports regarding customer needs, issues, competitive activity, and opportunities for new services.
- Prepare daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- Attend all sales department meetings and company functions as required.
- Maintain strong organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with customers and Fairchild Equipment personnel.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business needs.
Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent driving record.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for negotiating contracts, interviewing new customers, and establishing needs, specifications, and product modifications for future sales.
- Ability to manage and multi-task multiple projects at one time and in an efficient and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information, strong work ethic, reliability, teamwork and flexibility.
- Ability to work in a high-paced environment.
- Travel throughout assigned territory and/or Fairchild Equipment footprint; 80% annually.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- 2+ years of experience with forklift sales experience is preferred.
- 3+ years of outside business to business sales experience is required.
- Knowledge of forklift / heavy equipment industry.
- Pay: $30,000 - $50,000 annually
- Compensation includes a competitive base salary plus uncapped commission opportunities. This position offers a guaranteed base pay along with commission earnings tied to individual sales performance.
