Supplier Development Engineer – Machining

Reporting to:
Supply Chain Manager

Location:

Moorpark, CA or Simsbury, CT

• Track, monitor, and report on key Supplier KPI’s, including quality and delivery metrics.
• Create and implement strategic action plans to resolve systemic challenges, driving sustainable change/improvement.
• Identify, select, and qualify Suppliers that align with future Company goals while ensuring they meet quality, delivery, and costs standards.
• Assess supplier capacity, capability, and risk for existing and new programs.
• Support commodity strategies and dual sourcing initiatives.
• Provide advice and guidance in interpreting and adapting quality standards and government regulations.
• Drive improvements utilizing Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Problem‑solving tools.
• Analyze design reliability and quality to recommend process changes and enhancements.
• Support and drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) in the early product design phase.
• Work cross‑functionally with internal teams to align requirements and resolve systemic issues.
• Analyze data effectively, summarize results, create reports, and use visual management tools.
• Track action plans from Supplier audits and assessments and monitor their activity for completion and correctness consistently.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field of study required.
• Experience working in or with machine shops is required; leading a machine shop is preferred.
• Supply Chain experience is preferred.
• Experience with Quality Standards including AS9100 and NADCAP.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices, and Problem Solving, including 8D and 5‑Why.
• Strong skills in MS Windows, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercial and financial acumen.
• Excels in a dynamic work environment.
• Energetic, agile, and ability to work independently.
• Must be willing to travel up to 50%.

Salary Range: $90,000 – $130,000 per year.

Salary is determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
