Northeast Natural Energy, a growing natural gas exploration and production company, is seeking an Air Quality Compliance Coordinator for its Morgantown, WV office. This position will report to the Regulatory Manager and supports production, midstream, and facility operations. A combination of office and field‑based work is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with state (WV/PA) and federal air quality regulations.
- Ensure timely submission of required compliance certifications and reports. Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and communicate impact to operations and management.
- Track and manage permit conditions, compliance schedules, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations and consultants to gather required permitting and reporting data.
- Review proposed equipment changes, facility expansions, and planned projects for air permitting impact.
- Maintain and monitor emissions inventories and databases. Maintain organized air compliance files, permits, reports, and supporting records.
- Coordinate, monitor and track regulatory and voluntary LDAR programs. Coordinate, support and validate state (WV/PA), federal, and voluntary emissions reporting.
- Conduct internal air compliance audits and field inspections. Identify compliance gaps and coordinate corrective actions.
- Support regulatory inspections and respond to agency information requests. Support voluntary audits such as those conducted by Equitable Origin, MIQ, ONE Future, and The Environmental Partnership.
- Assist with root cause analysis and documentation of deviations.
- Coordinate, monitor and train on annual emission reduction initiatives. Prepare compliance summaries, dashboards, and management‑level updates.
- Communicate regulatory expectations clearly to non‑technical teams.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of oil and gas air quality or environmental compliance experience.
- Direct experience supporting Appalachian oil and natural gas upstream and/or midstream facilities.
- Experience with air emissions calculations and regulatory reporting.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and emissions tracking tools.
- Ability to manage routine air compliance tasks and reporting independently.
- High attention to detail and strong compliance mindset. Ability to interpret permits and translate requirements to field personnel.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Practical, operations‑focused problem solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidate must be able to meet and maintain a clean driving record and pass a drug screening and background check.
