Production Manager
Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for front-line leadership in day-to-day operations of a designated production team to include safety, quality, efficiencies, and meeting customer expectations. Provides overall direction to production floor employees in the areas of production, scheduling, performance management, training and other related areas striving to improve overall operational efficiencies.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInclude the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Supervising operations within a facility to achieve higher output
- Organizing training and educational manuals for the production team
- Assisting in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires
- Ensuring compliance with safety and professional standards within a facility
- Organizing, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks to meet production goals
- Evaluating various production stations to ensure optimum efficiency
- Maintaining communication between employees and management to ensure procedures and policies are followed
- Ensuring the flow of raw materials and other resources
Directly supervises employees in the department. Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications- Ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in an often fast-paced environment where multiple tasks, events and stimulus may occur simultaneously.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to deal effectively and courteously with management, employees, and visitors
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
