Purpose:

Diamond C Trailers is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer & Lead to serve as the working leader for manufacturing engineering and process excellence across our operations. This role is a hands‑on, player/coach position—responsible for both leading people and personally driving improvements in safety, quality, throughput, cost, and scalability.

This leader will own critical manufacturing processes while developing and guiding a small team of manufacturing engineers. The ideal candidate brings deep practical experience, strong systems thinking, and a passion for building teams that execute with discipline, urgency, and pride.

This role is essential to Diamond C’s ability to scale efficiently, deliver consistent quality, and compete through operational excellence—not just cost.

Key Responsibilities Manufacturing & Process Leadership

Serve as a hands‑on senior manufacturing engineer , owning high‑impact process design, optimization, and problem‑solving initiatives.

Lead improvements in manufacturing flow, layout, tooling, fixtures, work instructions, and standard work.

Drive measurable gains in safety, quality, throughput, cost, and on‑time delivery.

Partner closely with Product Engineering to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, scalability, and quality from day one.

Support new product introductions (NPI), line expansions, and major change initiatives.

Apply disciplined root cause analysis and corrective action methods to resolve chronic production issues.

Lead, coach, and develop a team of manufacturing/process engineers, fostering ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Set clear expectations, priorities, and performance standards; provide regular coaching and feedback.

Develop team members’ technical, problem‑solving, and leadership capabilities.

Model servant leadership while maintaining high performance expectations.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

Champion lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and waste elimination across operations.

Establish and refine standard processes, metrics, and visual management systems.

Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Safety to drive aligned execution.

Support capital planning, equipment selection, and ROI justification for manufacturing investments.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline).

10+ years of manufacturing engineering or closely related experience in a production environment.

Advanced Solidworks proficiency

3+ years of team leadership experience, with a proven ability to develop high‑performing teams.

Strong experience with:

Manufacturing process design and optimization

Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies

Root cause analysis and problem‑solving tools (A3, 5‑Why, Fishbone, etc.)

Demonstrated ability to lead change and deliver measurable operational results.

Preferred

Experience in fabricated metal, welding-intensive, automotive, heavy equipment, or similar durable goods manufacturing.
