Information Systems Specialist

JOB TITLE:

Information Systems Specialist, IT / Full-time

SCHEDULE:

Mon - Fri, Day Shift SALARY: D.O.E. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyzed the performance of hardware and software interfaces and identifies alternatives for optimizing the usage of computer resources
• Applies generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation
• Participates in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting operating systems and software
• Provides assistance and routine consultation to users in the development of operating systems and software
• Implements tools and facilitates text formatting and file conversion and transfer
• Installs and supports electronic printing systems, including type font development, management, and documentation
• Installs software and user utilities for modifications and upgrades of operating systems and workstation environments
• Manages hardware maintenance and repair activities
• Diagnoses and resolves hardware problems
• Plans and executes software version upgrade releases and custom interfaces
• Works with others to develop alternative system and software designs
• Manages internal and external e-mail
• Maintain current TIERS system
• Is available and on call after regular work hours (evenings and weekends) via phone, email, etc. to assist and help address support needs such as password resets, account lockouts, emergencies (Backup Failures, System Down, Etc.), or other support requests as needed by on-call staff

• Regardless of license/certification or experience, must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
• To meet programming needs, must be willing to submit to flexible schedules and duty assignments. If in personal recovery, demonstrates commitment to own recovery (one to two years of continuous sobriety is desired)
• Pass a Background Screening and Drug Test, required
• Keeps a current CPR and First Aid certifications
• Valid TN D.L. with "F" endorsement required; "F" endorsement can be obtained once hired

• Higher Learning Degree preferred but not required
• High School Diploma or GED
• Five plus years related experience maintaining systems at a high level preferred.
