Janitor

Must be detail-oriented, flexible, and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. Will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and dining room, and public areas. Other duties may be assigned.

• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Clean, dust, and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
• Drive vehicles required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans, industrial trucks, or industrial vacuum cleaners.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Requires full range of mobility in upper and lower body, ability to reach overhead, perform various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle objects; climb stairs; maintain balance for extended periods.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience – Janitorial experience preferred.

Must pass a Pre‑employment Physical, Drug test, and a background check. Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Austin Industrial is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.
