Trauma Surgeon

About this role:

Intermountain Health is seeking an Academic Trauma Surgeon to join a team of experienced surgeons, APPs, and support staff to work in the state-of-the-art facility at Intermountain Medical Center, a 504-bed level I Trauma Center. You can anticipate working as an equal member of multi-disciplinary teams supporting advanced therapies for complex trauma and critically ill patients. The Trauma Services provider team is currently made up of 8 physicians and 12 APPs.

In this role you can anticipate:

Practicing at .5 FTE clinically at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, a Level I Trauma Center with opportunities at other facilities within the greater Salt Lake Valley

• 24/7 trauma coverage; to include trauma floor coverage, emergency general surgery coverage, and shock trauma ICU coverage
• Weekday 10-14 hour day/night shifts, weekend 7-17 hour day/night shifts
• 1-3 restricted trauma night shifts per month and 1-3 unrestricted ACS night shifts per month
• Bed-side and tele-health trauma coverage while on shift
• Supervision of EM, General Surgery, and Podiatry residents
• No call expectation outside of shift hours

.3 FTE protected individual effort academic time.

.2 FTE administrative support of the Intermountain Enterprise, Trauma Research Program.

Applicants should demonstrate a sustained record of externally funded clinical, translational, or health-services research in trauma, acute care surgery, or related fields.

What youll bring:

• MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
• ACGME accredited residency training in Internal Medicine
• ABMS board certification or eligibility in Trauma Surgery
• Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
• Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Healths credentialing process
