Experience

General custodial work in a non-domestic facility.

Skills

Operation of cleaning tools and maintenance skills.
Ability to read instruction and maintenance specifications.
Good judgment.

Additional Knowledge

Safety procedures and practices related to custodial duties.
Hazardous materials.
Material Safety Data Sheet reading.
Right to Know, Hazardous Communications Legislation.
Bloodborne Pathogen restrictions.

Dependability

Regular attendance.
Ability to work different shifts.
Attendance at scheduled meetings/conferences.

Physical / Mental Standards

Read and comprehend operating manuals and MSDS.
Meet and confer with individuals/groups about technical cleaning problems.
Lifting, handling parts, supplies, equipment.
Work around dust, fumes, and exposures.
No risk of injury to self or others while on duties.
Operate equipment necessary for custodial and maintenance duties.

Contract Length

12 Months; C12 salary schedule (Add 2 Steps for CDL & Bus Driver Certificate)

Primary Function

Cleaning and maintenance of district buildings, fixtures, furniture, and equipment to first class condition.
Work cooperatively with supervisor.

Essential Functions

Perform maintenance and cleaning of all campus buildings and classrooms, and bus driving. Assignments include, but are not limited to:

Perform maintenance on equipment and facilities as required.

Drive the school bus or vehicles as required.

Empty and clean all waste receptacles.

Clean grease/chalk boards and erasers.

Sweep laboratory and shop areas as required.

Clean drinking fountain and wash basins.

Fill towel and soap dispensers as required.

Dust and/or mop as needed.

Vacuum carpets, spot clean as necessary.

Clean windows/window sills.

Dust furniture, cabinets, and fixtures.

Clean hallways and walls.

Clean restrooms and restroom fixtures.

Replace light bulbs in overhead fixtures and other locations as necessary.

Scrub floors and carpet as needed.

Strip, wax, and/or buff tile floors as required.

Turn off lights in unused areas.

Report vandalism, damage, items needing repair, or unusual conditions to the Director.

Participate in periodic evaluations of performance.

Perform such other duties and assume responsibilities as required.

It is expected that employee is on time each workday.

Other jobs/tasks as described and requested by administrator.

Internal Relationships

Furnish support services for teachers in assigned areas to provide a pleasant clean learning/working environment.
Maintain good communications and work cooperatively with other custodians, or Campus Director.

External Relationships

Maintain a good positive attitude toward patrons.

Other Job Functions

Make suggestions for improving productivity and performance of custodial duties.

Recommend cleaning products and equipment to improve quality and ease of custodial duties.

Perform other duties and assume responsibilities as directed by appropriate supervisors or administrators.
