Database Administrator
Our client is a niche retail solutions company that has been thriving in their industry for over 25 years. They are looking to add a DBA to their growing team to help maintain and modernize their database environment. Salary range: 100 – 120K + strong comprehensive benefits package
Location:
New Britain, CT
- Perform database maintenance, backup management, performance management, database documentation, database platform patching and updates as needed
- Collaborate with technical staff in the design, installation, upgrade, and maintenance of database solutions and tools
- Document software installs and upgrades made to the software
- Collaborate with team to assist with BI development and reporting initiatives
- Take part in various projects as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred, but will consider relevant work experience
- 5-7 years of experience working in database administration/engineering
- Experience with open-source databases (MySQL, Postgre
SQL) - Good knowledge in database-design, SQL, SQL Clusters and optimization
- Strong ETL experience required
- Prior experience working with BI tools (Power
BI, Tableau, Etc.) - Prior experience working within a Linux/Unix operating system
- Experience with data warehousing, administration, upgrades, and documentation
- Must be willing to research and recommend new technologies and systems to help modernize the environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills required
