Overview

ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY (2C) – BUSINESS OFFICE (2 Vacancies)

Core Responsibilities & Duties
  • Process assigned vendor payments in a timely manner to avoid late penalties and take advantage of vendor discounts.
  • Respond to requests from vendors and district staff for information and/or assistance; exercising discretion and good judgement.
  • Assist other Office Staff as needed, as well as assist District Secretaries with questions on procedures and the PO Module.
  • Ability to coordinate workload to meet schedules/deadlines.
  • Operate computer and other standard office machines (calculator, fax, and copier).
  • Maintain files for completed payments and audit.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of successful secretarial/clerical work experience with aspects of accounting, bookkeeping, or statistical duties.
  • One year business school training or one-year additional office experience with concentration on numerical functions.
  • Ability to work with accuracy and perform various mathematical functions with speed and accuracy.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of State of Delaware accounting procedures.
  • Computer training and experience required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel mandatory.
  • Capability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Prior experience with the First State Financials (FSF) system is preferred but not required.
