We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Intern to support our Information Technology team across three high-impact initiatives. This is a hands‑on internship designed for a college student looking to gain real‑world experience in IT security analytics, data governance, and enterprise systems management. You will work directly with senior IT professionals and contribute to projects that have measurable impact on the organization's security posture and operational efficiency.

This internship will be based onsite at our ASSA ABLOY Americas headquarters location in New Haven, CT. Candidates must be able to work onsite during the hours of 8:30‑5:00.

Key Responsibilities
  • IT Security Metrics Dashboard (Power BI) – Assist in design, development, and maintenance of the dashboard, collaborate with the security team to identify KPIs, connect and transform data from multiple systems, and document data sources and usage guidelines.
  • Configuration Management Database (CMDB) cleanup – Audit existing CMDB records to identify duplicates and missing attributes, validate and reconcile asset data with IT infrastructure teams, establish data quality standards, and support ongoing governance processes.
  • Customer Master Data Management (MDM) cleanup – Review and cleanse customer master data records, resolve duplicate or inconsistent records, collaborate with stakeholders to define validation rules, and support data migration and enrichment efforts.
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI or similar data visualization tools (coursework or personal projects acceptable).
  • Basic understanding of database concepts, data quality principles, or IT asset management.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with SQL or data querying is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and take ownership of assigned tasks.
Preferred Skills
  • Exposure to ITIL frameworks or ITSM platforms (e.g., Service Now).
  • Understanding of data governance or MDM concepts.
  • Experience with any ETL or data integration tools.
  • Familiarity with IT security concepts and frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS Controls).
