Role Overview This position supports the organization by providing on-site administration and support for domain-specific applications as well as computational hardware and software used in research. The role involves managing desktops, laptops, server-class computers, storage arrays, and tape backup libraries within laboratory and workgroup environments. The administrator will also play a key part in coordinating new AI application projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide on-site administration and support for applications, computational hardware, and software used in faculty research.
* Manage desktops, laptops, server-class computers, storage arrays, and tape backup libraries.
* Coordinate service with IT professionals from other units.
* Prepare procedural, planning, and informational documentation for both the team and end-users.
* Coordinate new AI application projects, providing instruction and insight to departments and creating applications as needed.
* Plan and deliver customer support services, including installation, consultation, troubleshooting, user assistance, and training.
* Resolve routine to moderately complex end-user issues in a timely manner through established protocols and escalate as necessary.
* Provide guidance and explain policies and procedures to end-users.
* Install and configure software for network connectivity, backups, and server access on user systems.
