Job Summary

The Financial Planning - Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for analyzing supply chain operations, (manufacturing / transportation / distribution network) and developing recommendations for reducing costs and creating operational efficiencies. This role establishes, maintains and communicates data on the performance of supply chain and identifying and driving improvements in manufacturing, transportation and distribution.

The Financial Planning - Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for analyzing the supply chain including manufacturing, planning and procurement, transportation and distribution network and developing recommendations for reducing costs and creating operational efficiencies. The Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for developing analyses, scorecards and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Overall, this role will collaborate directly with the Supply Chain Leadership team working cross-functionally to provide effective analytics for product costs, processes and financial reporting. The Supply Chain Specialist will work collaboratively with all aspects of the business and have the opportunity to lead or participate in key projects and strategic initiatives that drive efficiencies. A key focus of this role will be on removing non-value activities and cost, and identifying and driving improvements in the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

* Identify cost savings, productivity & process improvements, and other supply chain enhancement opportunities through applying technical, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Generate insights, develop solutions, drive action, and assist in delivering results
* Develop standard reporting, key performance indicators and metrics. Utilize technical skills to improve and automate reporting as well as to identify and develop new metrics, reports / visualizations, and tools to drive action throughout the supply chain organization. Identify and communicate key trends and insights related to all standard reporting
* Provide analytical support and identify improvement opportunities through ad-hoc analysis and reporting in all areas relating to transportation. Generate insights and recommendations, drive action, and assist in delivering results.
* Collaborate with Supply Chain Leadership team to optimize and drive value creation across the organization.
* Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis and develop long term solutions.
* Perform variance analysis between actual and standard costs, monitor, analyzes, and report on inventory valuation, production, and various other costs.
* Collaborate with Supply Chain leadership in long-term capital planning and leading annual budgeting and planning cycle.
* Development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, long range planning and other operational modeling tools.
* Participate in annual raw material planning process, partner with Procurement team to develop cost targets. Ongoing basis forecast raw material costs based on latest trends vs. plan.
* Provide day-to-day oversight of departmental budgets, lead ongoing forecasting process. Perform monthly variance analysis of results, identifying risks and opportunities.
* Develop financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives
* Prepare and analyze broader make vs buy decisions
* Collaborate with 3rd Party vendors to ensure all relevant information is being shared on a regular basis, mine data for insights.
* Embrace a continuous process improvement mindset, identifying and recommending changes in standard operating procedures.

Required Skills

* B.A. or B.S. in Business Related Field
* 1-3 years of experience required in key functional areas outlined above
* Strong Excel/PowerPoint skills, Proficiency with Business Objects and other mining tools
* Ability to communicate openly and honestly with colleagues and customers. Takes personal responsibility for the quality and content of the work, and complies with information confidentiality requirements where applicable
* Ability to work in a rapidly evolving environment and quickly grasp new concepts by demonstrating and applying knowledge of these tasks timely and accurately
* Establishes and maintains effective relationships by collaborating with customers by fully understanding and meeting their expectations
