Summary of Responsibilities

This position is responsible for facility design safety basis activities with a focus on process hazard analyses and chemical dose consequence analyses. Works in the area of Engineering and Integrated Safety Analysis. Interfaces with employees and managers at all levels of the organization. Additionally, provides engineering support in terms of calculations, walkdowns, and general configuration management control as assigned.

Education and Experience

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical engineering, nuclear engineering, or equivalent
  • 2+ years of direct work experience with 2+ years at a nuclear facility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience performing chemical dose consequence analyses
  • A Master’s Degree or PhD from an accredited college or university in Physics, Nuclear or Chemical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License obtained by accredited examination.
  • 5 or more years of related work experience: of which 2 years’ experience is in a nuclear facility.
  • 2+ Years of experience at a Part 70 licensee
  • Design Safety Basis Development, HAZOP, Documented Safety Analysis experience.

    Eunice, NM - Hybrid (75/25)
  • Work Schedule:

    Professional work schedule with minimal night/weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed.
  • Travel Required:

    10% of the time or less as required
  • Security Clearance Requirement:
    Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level security clearance is required
  • Emergency Response Requirements:
    Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required; including being on-call (24/7) during your designated team duty week.
  • Work Environment:
    Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General Office, Plant Production Areas. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
Primary Functions
  • Responsible for independently performing analysis and design activities in support of facility operations and future projects.
  • Performs chemical dose consequence calculations utilizing modelling software including independent design reviews.
  • Perform analysis, calculations; and develop designs in support of the assigned facility and engineering programs and projects.
  • Performs independent design review of evaluations and analyses, including verification of assumptions and the adequacy of calculations.
  • Provides technical support for design, installation and maintenance of site projects to ensure that system/equipment operates according to specifications.
  • Communicates and works effectively with other organizations to resolve technical issues and to implement engineering outputs.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment and professional rigor in the performance of all analyses and assigned tasks.
Compensation

Compensation starting at: $104,288 - $148,136 / year and up dependent on candidate.
