Summary

of Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the security of special nuclear material, classified material and the physical protection of commercial interests. The role directs the activities of security personnel to ensure the physical protection of the facility, protects classified matter, obtains security clearances for facility and support personnel, and interfaces with employees, managers, vendors and governmental agencies. The position adheres to foundational behaviors, company values and Urenco behaviors.

Education and Experience

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, security management, statistics or engineering field.
  • 5–7 years of responsible nuclear experience implementing a physical security program.
  • 2 years of management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, security management, statistics or engineering field and a Master’s degree in a related field.
  • More than 7 years of responsible nuclear experience implementing a physical security program.
  • Experience implementing a Nuclear Material Accounting Program for the control of Special Nuclear Material.
  • 4 or more years of management experience.
Job Details
  • Work Location: Urenco USA, Eunice, NM
  • Work Schedule: Professional schedule with minimal night/weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required; employees may also be subject to call‑outs as needed.
  • Travel Required: 10% of the time or less as required.
  • Security Clearance Requirement: CAA Access and Q level security clearance.
  • Emergency Response Requirements: Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duty may be required, including 24/7 on‑call during designated team duty week.
  • Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. General office, plant production areas. This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
Primary Functions
  • Manage and implement the Physical Security Program, Information Security Program, security of applicable IT systems, access authorization and fitness for duty programs.
  • Ensure contracted security force contract adherence to maintain physical protection of the plant and classified material.
  • Ensure adequacy of security training programs and that all security force personnel are adequately trained and equipped.
  • Support security oversight of subsidiary in the centrifuge assembly building and work closely with the ET‑US Security & Regulatory Affairs Manager.
  • Ensure all oversight and auditing responsibilities are concluded and required reporting is made.
  • Manage the security of the IT infrastructure at URENCO USA.
  • Interact with regulatory agency personnel regarding the Security Plan and program activities related to licensing, inspections, performance assessment and event analysis.
  • Provide team leadership, training, coaching and mentoring.
  • Create and develop an effective and aligned team and set challenging goals and expectations for staff.
  • Ensure positive behaviors are exhibited by staff.
  • Develop and manage the security budget.
  • As a collaborative member of the UUSA Site Leadership Team, support site and corporate strategies, model cultural values and drive accountability to meet key results.
  • Serve as Local Process Owner for Security and ensure alignment with Group and Local Process Owners.
  • In the absence of the Compliance Manager, may serve as Acting Compliance Manager.
