Position: School Aide FT

The School Aide will be an effective addition to the school leadership with the ability to heavily support the implementation of curriculum, organizing and maintaining a supportive academic environment and modeling the healthy interactions of preschool-age children.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implements and promotes a positive, safe and healthy welcoming school environment.
Maintains administrative procedures and systems to enhance the Early Childhood Programs programmatically.
Assist the Family Resource Coordinator with school activities, workshops and events.
Assist the Teacher in the development and implementation of a structured classroom environment.
Assumes role as Assistant Teacher on a weekly basis to lead small group activities during Teacher breaks/absence.
Ensure materials are available to Teachers when needed to carry out activities.
Promotes positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques within the school environment.
Assists Teacher in maintaining good communication with parents/legal guardians.
Attends training, workshops, and conferences related to the enhancement of the Early Childhood Education Program.
Participates in required staff meetings and staff development as requested by the Director of Early Childhood Education.
Bachelors or Associates degree with prior experience with preschool age children; or High School Diploma with prior experience with preschool age children in a licensed childcare center, or a substitute certificate from NYC Department of Education.
Obtained or currently working towards Child Development Associate Certification (CDA).
Experience working within DOE.
DOE/DOI Fingerprint Clearance.
Bachelors or better in Early Childhood Education.
Associates or better in Education.
Experience working within DOE
Obtained or currently working towards Child Development Associate Certification
