Job Overview – Fund Accountant (Private Credit)
Compensation: $90,000 – $115,000/year + bonus.
Location:
New York, NY.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday (In-Office).
Atlantic Group is hiring a Fund Accountant (Private Credit) in New York, NY for our client. In this in-office role, you will support accounting and reporting for private credit funds with high transaction volume, multiple legal entities, and borrowing base–driven credit facilities. You will work extensively in Excel and Quick Books to manage reconciliations, financial statements, and complex data flows tied to loan activity and credit facilities.
This role is well-suited for a self-directed fund accountant who can independently manage complexity, reconcile detailed models to the general ledger, and operate with minimal hand-holding.
- Fund Accounting & Reporting: Prepare and review fund-level financial statements across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
- General Ledger & Reconciliations: Reconcile Excel-based models to the general ledger, investigate variances, and maintain accurate records in Quick Books.
- Credit Facilities Support: Support accounting and reporting for borrowing base–driven credit facilities, including loan activity and interest accruals.
- Transaction Processing & Close: Manage high-volume transactional activity and support month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Collaboration & Improvement: Partner with the CFO and fund administrator to support reporting needs, improve workflows, and strengthen data integrity.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (CPA preferred).
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in fund accounting, private credit, lending, or financial services accounting, with loan accounting experience preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of fund accounting principles, private credit structures, and borrowing base credit facilities, with private credit fund experience preferred.
- Technical
Skills:
Advanced Excel proficiency required (VLOOKUP, SUMIF/SUMIFS, COUNTIF/COUNTIFS, Pivot Tables), with experience using Quick Books strongly preferred. - Skills & Attributes: Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, manage complexity, and take a proactive, hands-on approach.
