Location: New York

A Real Estate Investment Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Senior Investment Associate.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with portfolio managers and team members to evaluate potential commercial real estate (CRE) debt transactions.
  • Develop, structure, and present financing proposals to the Fund’s Credit Committee and external debt and equity partners.
  • Conduct due diligence and assist in underwriting pipeline transactions, identifying key deal strengths, risks, and mitigants.
  • Prepare detailed Investment Memoranda and financial models for presentation at Investment Committee meetings.
  • Support asset management by analyzing performance, credit quality, and market trends across the existing loan portfolio.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with origination, underwriting, and senior leadership teams, including the CEO, CFO, and COO.
  • Communicate with borrowers to address complex or sensitive matters, including risk-related issues.
  • Contribute to business development and fund marketing efforts, engaging with investors, prospective partners, and clients.
  • Identify and articulate strategic opportunities to enhance company operations and overall performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required.
  • Background in finance and/or real estate.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with advanced knowledge of commercial or related lending.
  • Strong work ethic with exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage multiple transactions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven analytical and quantitative abilities, with expertise in financial modeling and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly and succinctly present deal dynamics to stakeholders.
  • Skilled in managing interactions with diverse parties, including deal sponsors, origination teams, executives, and investors.
  • Self-starter and proactive problem solver with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated capacity to make confident, data-driven decisions under time-sensitive conditions.
