A Primary Care Office is looking for an experienced and professional medical assistant to help with patient care and the day-to-day running of the office. This full-time position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience. Responsibilities include: -Measuring and recording the patient's vital signs (e.g. height, weight, blood pressure etc).
-Recording the patient's medical history and reason for visit.
-Performing certain diagnostic tests (such as EKG, Spirometry, phlebotomy, etc) and assisting physician with certain medical procedures, as needed.
-Collecting, labeling and routing specimens according to standard procedures.
-Preparing patient records prior to visit by ensuring that required lab results and documentation are entered in the medical record for practitioner review.
-Performing a variety of front office duties such as processing insurance forms, preparing financial records, photocopying and answering phones.
-Maintaining the orderliness of the office by stocking cupboards and monitoring supplies
-Performing and documenting controls and calibration of laboratory equipment when needed. Qualifications: -Successful completion of an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
-Certification or registration with the American Association of Medical Assistants, preferred.
-At least one year experience as a medical assistant in a physician's office.
-Familiarity with computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite
-Good reading, writing and math skills We will train the right candidate on the use of our office EMR (Electronic Medical Records) System.
