Licensed Practical Nurse - Pain ManagementProvide routine services in caring for all patients seen in the Outpatient Clinics. Provide health teaching to prevent or stabilize potential health problems under the direction of the Registered Nurse or provider. Assists the health care provider as required. Works in collaboration with other staff, the Clinical Lead, and Clinical Operations Manager in maintaining daily function of clinic according to established policies and procedures.
The Graduate Practical Nurse working with a limited permit must work directly under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the clinic so that consistent supervision is ensured per New York State Professional Licensing Law. The permit holder, (GPN) will be given 3 months from date of employment to obtain their licensure. A permit expires one year from date of issuance or upon written notice by the Department that the application for licensing has been denied, or 10 days after written notification to the applicant of failure on the licensing exam-whichever occurs first.
Failing/passing applicants must inform the Nursing Office or Human Resource Office upon receiving their examination results.
Educational Requirements/
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse Program
- Current registration or temporary permit to practice nursing in N.Y.S.
