Postdoctoral Associate
The Coruzzi Lab at NYU’s Center for Genomics and Systems Biology is recruiting a Postdoctoral Associate. The role provides a transition to career independence through development of professional skills, supervision by a senior scientist, and publication of research findings.
OverviewOur lab focuses on predictive modeling of gene regulatory networks involved in nitrogen and water use efficiency in plants. We use time‑series transcriptome data and machine learning to learn causal networks, validate them in a plant cell‑based assay (TARGET), and confirm master transcription factors in planta, including greenhouse and field studies.
Responsibilities- Generate and analyze Next‑Generation sequencing datasets (RNA‑Seq, Chip‑Seq, ATAC‑Seq, and others).
- Develop and apply machine learning approaches to model gene regulatory networks.
- Validate predicted network interactions in plant cell assays and in planta.
- Communicate results through grant writing, manuscript preparation, and conference presentations.
- Ph.D. in a relevant field (genomics, bioinformatics, plant biology, systems biology).
- Strong experimental and computational skills for Next‑Gen data generation and analysis.
- Proficiency in R, Perl, Python, or other programming languages.
- Experience in writing grant applications and scientific manuscripts.
