OverviewSecurity Officers work closely with Security Team Leaders to maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, tenants, and visitors. The position pays $22.20 per hour (overtime $31.80 per hour) and offers mid‑week days off.
Responsibilities- Execute comprehensive security measures and countermeasures, adapting to changing needs and priorities.
- Maintain various security posts with possible exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Ability to follow safety procedures.
- Detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
- Agility, visual and auditory acuity necessary for essential duties.
- Calm, effective communication in emergency and non‑emergency situations.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, typically during an eight‑hour shift.
- Technical aptitude for learning security x‑ray and screening procedures and required equipment.
- Knowledge (preferred) of x‑ray image recognition, magnetometer alarm resolution, and related technologies.
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework is a plus).
- Valid New York State Security Guard License (8 or 16 hours).
While performing duties, the employee must stand, walk, use hands to handle tools, reach, balance, stoop, crouch, bend, talk, and hear. The employee must lift and move up to 50 lbs. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
