We are seeking full-time Unarmed Security Guards for our mid-rise residential apartment buildings in Far Rockaway, NY. The Security Guards provide front desk security, access control, interior and exterior patrols, and protection for residents, guests, and employees. They safeguard properties against fires, theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry. They are also responsible for the cleanliness of entrance areas and lobby and other related duties as required.

• Ensure building interiors, property perimeters, door locks, alarms, and entry/exit gates are functional and secured.
• Monitor screens and remain alert to movement for authorized and unauthorized individuals and vehicles.
• Staff the main entrance post and maintain orderly flow of people and vehicles entering and exiting.
• Verify contractor credentials and announce visitors to residents.
• Direct trespassers to leave the property after verbal warnings; summon police when necessary.
• Check parking areas for proper authorization and issue warnings to deter unauthorized use.
• Assist other internal departments as directed (maintenance, rental, etc.).
• Accept and secure packages from delivery services; sign over to residents as needed (packages may weigh up to 70 lbs.).
• Accurately complete shift logs, package logs, elevator logs, and other required records.

• Possess and maintain a valid NYS Security Guard License throughout employment
• Age 18 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent
• Available to work day, afternoon, overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Effective writing, oral, and interpersonal skills
• Professional demeanor when dealing with all personnel and the public
• Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with MS Office
• Reliable and punctual
• Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently
• Visual acuity and hearing ability to observe and obtain information
• Physical ability to perform activities such as climbing, lifting (up to 70 lbs), walking, standing for long periods

• Pay range: $22.00 - $22.50 per hour
