Position

Summary

The Natural Gas Utility Engineer will perform work on projects that are part of a large‑scale natural gas distribution infrastructure improvement program. The program’s goal is to accelerate the rate at which the utility will replace its aging pipeline.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret data and search for records regarding natural gas facilities.
  • Prepare construction plans, including proposed natural gas pipeline installation routes.
  • Conduct field visits to observe site conditions and provide a full analysis of project routes.
  • Select residential and commercial services based on past conditions and future load requirements.
  • Follow regulatory compliance with pipeline safety regulations.
  • Create GIS maps displaying project limits and details.
  • Estimate a bill of materials for projects.
  • Prepare road‑opening permits, when applicable, including traffic control plans.
  • Facilitate project status meetings with the client.
Qualifications And Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required;
    Civil Engineering preferred.
  • 0–2 years of experience preferred.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week initially in person.
  • Travel required.
  • Must be able to work with limited supervision and guidance, both independently and as a member of a team.
  • Self‑starter with strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • AutoCAD experience required.
  • MS Office proficiency and effective communication skills required.
