HVAC Tech / Heating Engineer, Building Maintenance
Responsibilities
- Manage the maintenance and repair of all HVAC systems within the medical center, including chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, pumps, building controls and related equipment.
- Ensure all HVAC systems critical to patient care remain fully operational and are maintained in accordance with safety and regulatory standards, including air exchanges, pressure differentials, temperature, and humidity.
- Respond promptly to urgent HVAC issues and system outages, delivering effective solutions to minimize service disruptions and ensure continuity of medical center operations.
- Manage the maintenance and repair of all refrigeration systems within the medical center, including refrigerators, freezers and any refrigerant‑containing equipment.
- Ensure all refrigeration systems critical to patient care remain fully operational and are maintained in accordance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Respond promptly to urgent refrigeration issues and system outages, delivering effective solutions to minimize service disruptions and ensure continuity of medical center operations.
- Assist the Manager in applying ILSM protocols during fire detection/suppression equipment impairment supporting HVAC equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in engineering technology or related field (preferred).
- High School Diploma is required.
- 10+ years as a Journeyman HVAC Mechanic (required).
- 7+ years of experience in healthcare facilities HVAC shop management or related role (required).
- Journeyman or Master HVAC Mechanic.
- EPA Universal certification.
