A privately held company based in New Jersey, specializing in specialty fasteners, casting, and components for global manufacturing industries, including automotive, medical, aerospace, and telecommunications.

Position Summary

The Director of Quality will lead quality initiatives, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. This role involves overseeing the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS), promoting a quality-driven culture, and managing customer relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a quality strategy aligned with business objectives and lead the Quality Systems team
  • Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the main contact for quality inquiries, manage audits, and resolve complaints with corrective actions.
  • QMS Oversight: Implement and maintain quality policies, manage internal and external audits, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and customers on mechanical parts.
  • Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor the quality team, ensuring a collaborative work environment.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain quality records, analyze metrics, and drive improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (preferred).
  • At least 10 years of experience in quality management systems within distribution or manufacturing.
  • Leadership experience in managing a quality team.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, AS9100 and IATF
    16949
  • Experience with customer audits, complaint resolution, and quality systems.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Experience in the fastener industry or similar is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong quality management principles and practices
