George Fox University's College of Education announces a full-time, tenure‑track position in the Educational Leadership, Educational Doctorate program. The position will begin August 15, 2026 and will support students through coursework and dissertation work. It is a 24‑credit, tenure‑track position.
OverviewPrimary focus is on the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program, with potential support for the Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) and Administrative Licensure programs. The program is offered primarily online, with year‑round student support and a mandatory July summer residency for faculty participation.
Responsibilities- Teach courses within the Educational Doctorate program; departmental needs include qualitative methodology, instructional technology, school improvement, or educational policy.
- Advising doctoral candidates to ensure they meet required competencies for timely dissertation completion.
- Facilitate partnership work with schools and districts to provide research program opportunities.
- Maintain an ongoing research agenda that supports faculty advancement and tenure.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with employees, students, and the public in a spirit of teamwork, respect, and customer service.
- Model Christian role through actions, words, and lifestyle, both informally and in supervisory roles.
- Demonstrate awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc., and work well with a variety of people.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ed.D. or Ph.D. in education or a related field.
- Experience in K‑12 administration as a principal or in a central office.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
- Commitment to working with a diverse student population; demonstrated experience preferred.
- Availability to teach in person, online, and virtually for synchronous delivery.
- Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and expression of Christian testimony in a church. Employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated. Candidates with significant teaching experience and a terminal degree may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
