- Provide highly visible customer support through the on-site installation of linear accelerators and imaging systems, and oversee diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.
- Check operational quality of system equipment.
- Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system.
- Serve as company liaison with customers on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
- Interpret customers’ needs and assist in facilitating resolution, regardless of which team is responsible.
- Perform field support activities related to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking installs and upgrades.
- Support a wide range of company products according to technical documentation and guidelines to ensure proper operation of customer equipment.
- Demonstrate equipment operation and specifications according to Customer Acceptance Procedure (CAP).
- Advise customers on ordering spare parts or service requests to ensure operation of VMS equipment according to technical and safety guidelines.
- Advise customers on where to find Customer Technical Bulletins and explain their importance.
- Input detailed records of installation and upgrade work into company information systems for accurate tracking.
- Maintain professionalism and safety per VMS guidelines and customer regulations.
- Perform parts inventory and ordering for installations, including replenishing spare parts kits and handling returns per procedure.
- Maintain technical documentation regarding operating characteristics, design factors, and performance to improve installation efficiency.
- Submit required installation documentation and data for tracking purposes.
- Use prescribed problem-resolution escalation procedures and request technical assistance as needed in a timely manner.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 2–4 years related experience, or an Associate/Bachelor’s degree in a related program preferred.
- Knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical engineering, RF energy-producing devices, and electronic cooling systems.
- Proficiency with test equipment used for verification and calibration of electronic equipment.
- Basic networking skills to integrate the machine onto the customer server; familiarity with PC-based systems.
- Customer-focused attitude with strong interpersonal communication skills; fluency in English (written and spoken).
- Experience with RF energy-producing devices and electronic cooling systems.
- Advanced networking knowledge; basic computer usage and debugging skills.
- Basic understanding of imaging systems.
- Desire to build a career and develop robust skill sets.
- Willingness to reside within 1 hour of a major US airport (zone).
- Ability to travel for 10 days with 4 days off throughout the year.
- Overtime and shift differential; company vehicle provided for personal use under Fleet Safety Policy; valid driver’s license required.
Requires residence within stated location parameters and ability to travel as described above.
