Mechanical Assembler reports to the manufacturing supervisor and is responsible for assembling, installing, aligning, adjusting, and fitting subassemblies and parts or auxiliary equipment using appropriate tools and equipment in an industrial setting. The position works under some supervision and has limited contact with external suppliers or customers.
Responsibilities- Clean, assemble and inspect parts per applicable work instructions.
- Communicate information to others about project status, updates, specific instructions, etc.
- Complete necessary paperwork and computer entries accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manufacture/inspect production parts using welding processes and procedures.
- Assess weld parameter inputs and make adjustments during welding.
- Identify nonconforming material according to procedures.
- Keep work area clean and organized, maintaining safety in manufacturing areas.
- Promote teamwork within the organization.
- Maintain good attendance.
- Perform Mechanical Assembler or other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Less than 2 years of related experience required.
- Must pass appropriate welder competency testing.
- Attention to detail – notice minor inconsistencies or faults in parts.
- Currency with current welding technologies.
- Verbal and written communication skills for conveying routine factual information.
- Strong work ethic – enthusiasm, eagerness, optimism, ownership of work activities.
- Basic knowledge and adherence to safety rules (eye/ear protection, PPE, hazard labeling, MSDS, evacuation procedures).
- Teamwork – interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others.
- Basic mathematical ability – perform simple arithmetic computations.
- Multi‑tasking – process multiple types of information and perform several tasks simultaneously.
- Visual acuity – see details clearly; must pass the AWS Jaeger J2 visual acuity test.
This position requires use of information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
