* Job Summary:
** The Logistics Specialist (LS) supports 24/7 operations and performs operational, logistical support, and administrative tasks required to support ground and air transportation.
The Logistics Specialist works in conjunction with field staff and site leadership, Command Center, corporate logistics department, and stakeholders to coordinate the safe transport of minors and/or families and staff. He/she manages daily operations for inventory, supplies, distribution, facilities, and transportation for the site assigned. The Logistics Specialist conducts vehicle safety, including regular preventative and corrective vehicle maintenance, and ensures drivers are authorized to operate vehicles.

* Essential Functions:
*** Follows company and contract policies, procedures, and guidance.
* Prepares, reviews, and coordinates the documentation, personal property and special accommodations required for transportation of all minors and ensures all paperwork is provided for proper transport for reunification or transfer to shelter.
* Assists with transfer of custody and property for small and/or large groups.
* Keeps in constant communication with transport teams assuming custody of minors and/or family units, to include checking status of vehicles in route.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and
Qualifications:
Possess an associate degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college (a high school diploma with two or more years of relevant experience may be substituted for an associate degree) and,Have at least two years of documented experience in a field related to security, law, social work, detention, corrections, or similar occupational area; certification, licensure, and credentials applicable to the professional accreditation of the position (a minimum of four years of experience is required when a high school diploma with two or more years of relevant experience is substituted for an associate degree).Two
or more years’ experience in business, logistics, transportation, supply chain or a related field. Demonstrate basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance (e.g., PM, inspections, safety checks, etc.,) as well as warehouse and inventory procedures (e.g., FIFO concept).Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees and with clients.
Ability to take technical direction and feedback from various sources.
Requires the ability to prioritize work, meet stringent deadlines, balance multiple tasks and work in a team environment. Ability to pass a Government Security Background Investigation, including a favorable credit check, no criminal record, and no prior drug use. Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel). Inventory and surveillance software experience preferred. Experience using tablets and smart phone technology.
Ability to deliver the highest quality of work under extreme pressure.
Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Favorable credit check for all cleared positions.
* Successfully pass a background investigation, drug screen.
* Valid US passport book required or proof of being in the process of obtaining one, depending on the program.
* US Citizenship, Permanent Residency.
* Consider the position at hand (i.e., lifting, pushing, and pulling will not be very necessary). Percentages should be modified to reflect the necessity for each position.
* Standing/Walking/Mobility:
Must have the mobility to attend meetings with other managers and employees.
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 0% - 10% of the time Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 0% - 10% of the time, must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
