Location: North Aurora, IL
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Designer/Drafter to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, designs and bills of materials (BOMS) based on specifications and requirements. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers and other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Drawings: Create detailed technical drawings, designs and BOMS using CAD software based on specifications and requirements.
- Design Modifications: Make modifications to existing designs as needed, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to understand project requirements and provide design solutions.
- Documentation: Maintain organized and accurate records of all drawings and design documents.
- Quality Control: Review and verify the accuracy of drawings, designs, and BOMS ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Project Support: Assist with project planning and coordination, providing technical support as needed, adhering to all project timelines
- Standards Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Other Duties: Perform other design and drafting-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Associate's degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field;
Bachelor's degree in mechanical. - Proven experience in drafting and design, preferably in a mechanical engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works) and other design tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
