Seeking a Quality Manager with a minimum of 15 years experience in Plastics Injection Molding. Experience with pharma, medical supplies, FDA, or packaging are highly desirable.
Will be responsible for managing all aspects of Quality for a high volume plastics manufacturing plant with a mostly pharmaceutical customer base. Manage personnel and systems to ensure quality products and records. Lead ISO9001 - 2015 at the plant.
Mentor personnel in the use of quality tools, such as SPC and GDT.
Review and analyze closure dimensions for adherence to manufacturing specifications and drawing requirements
Communicate pertinent quality data to personnel to raise awareness of daily nonconformances and CIOs.
Investigate product discrepancies with emphasis on root cause identification and corrective action implementation
Write reports for customer improvement opportunities (customer complaints) as required by customer.
Customer’s primary contact for product quality questions and issues
Communicate quality metrics to all personnel through e-mails, communication meetings, and review sessions.
Develop strategic planning for improving efficiencies and reducing cost drivers such as OT and scrap
Support personnel from various disciplines and locations for new tooling CQVs and new equipment qualifications
Travel to customer sites as needed or when requested
Write various reports on plant related quality metrics, successes, and opportunities
Lead the Ahoskie team during customer audits/visits.
Actively support and participate in Ahoskie audits and initiatives for ISO, ISO9001-2015, ISS 15378, and GMP.
Read, review and approve customer specifications and internal SOPs/WIs for clarity, consistency, and completeness. Ensure customer specs and internal specs are in agreement.
Manage personnel and systems to ensure quality records (documents and testing) are complete and accurate for final product approval for shipm.
Directly supervises four non-supervisory employees, a Documentation Coordinator, a Tooling and Incoming Inspector, a Quality Analyst and a QA Compliance Technician. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Berry Global policies and procedures, as well as any applicable state or federal laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and developing, training, coaching and motivating employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel approx. 20% as needed to customers and suppliers.
Minimum 15 years of quality experience
Minimum 10 years experience managing people
Experience with Quality tools, such as SPC and GDT
ASQ Certification: CMQ/OE or CQE preferred
