Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is looking to immediately hire a reliable student to join our team and assist with moving furniture. The successful candidate will be punctual, helpful, and a collaborative worker. Duties primarily involve moving of items, loading and unloading, and assembling or placing items as needed. The successful candidate must feel comfortable with driving a large truck and know how to interact professionally with customers.
All of our staff members are expected to use extreme care when handling items and take pride in doing so.
- Picks up, delivers, assembles, and moves various items (mainly furniture)
- Safely loads, unloads, and transports items
- Packs and unpacks items as needed
- Tracks inventory through use of computer system
- Must be enrolled at Utah State University
- Must have a minimum of one year of school remaining
- Must be able to work 20 hours per week during semesters and up to 40 hours per week during summer
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be a team player
- Must be self-motivated and proactive
- Customer service skills
- Comfortable with using Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or other U.S. person
- Prior furniture moving experience
- Experience using various moving tools
- Lifting equipment (dollies, ramps, pallet hacks)
- Hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, drill)
- Packing supplies (tape, ropes, straps)
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of personnel at different professional levels
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Organizational skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy items over 50 pounds
- Ability to lift items overhead on a regular basis
- Ability to climb stairs while lifting heavy items over 50 pounds on a regular basis
- May work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
