Job Description & How to Apply Below

Join a UK-based organisation providing specialist outsourced services, operating nationally with a mix of office-based and operational teams. They place strong emphasis on fairness, compliance and a genuinely human-first approach when dealing with both employees and customers.

They are looking for an HR Administrator to join the team and support the Head of HR. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career who wants to build strong foundations, learn properly, and grow within the role over time.

This is a hands-on, operational HR role to begin with, with clear scope to develop. You won’t be expected to be the finished article — what matters is curiosity, diligence and the right attitude.

Key responsibilities
  • Providing day-to-day HR administration support across the employee lifecycle
  • Drafting HR letters and correspondence (e.g. disciplinaries, return-to-work meetings, maternity leave, flexible working requests), using templates while applying appropriate judgement and tone
  • Taking minutes in employee meetings, with the expectation that over time you’ll contribute by flagging risks, missed steps or fairness issues
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR files, with a strong focus on compliance and attention to detail
  • Keeping up to date with employment legislation and highlighting upcoming changes

The HR function is operational and hands-on, without a fully automated HR system. This role plays a key part in keeping processes on track. You’ll:

  • Own and map HR processes end to end
  • Set up and maintain employee files
  • Diarise probation reviews, maternity milestones, return dates and other key events
  • Prompt managers at the right time and help prevent issues before they become problems
  • Act as a visible presence in the business, picking up on potential issues early

You don’t need to be technical, but you should be comfortable using tools to improve how HR operates. They value people who enjoy building trackers, workflows and practical systems that make HR more efficient, consistent and robust.

You’ll support inductions, work closely with managers, and build trusted relationships with employees at all levels. Being visible and approachable is important in this role.

The role will be office-based for at least the first six months
, with the possibility of discussing hybrid working after that.

About you

This role would suit someone who is:

  • Early in their HR career, or keen to begin one
  • Studying, or interested in studying, CIPD (Level 3 supported)
  • Organised, detail-focused and comfortable owning HR administration
  • Practical, thoughtful and confident applying a human approach to HR

(They are also open to hearing from more experienced candidates seeking a lower-pressure, hands-on HR role, though development potential is the core focus.)
