Location:

Hours:
Monday to Sunday, 6am–6am or 6pm–6am (Shifts 4 on 4 off on rotation)
Rate:
Day Shift: £14.50 / Night Shift: £16.49

Our client is a large retailer in the pet food industry and is actively recruiting for an experienced Skilled Warehouse Operative who can ensure processes are followed within production, products are produced in line with production plans, and to the highest level of quality while keeping the team safe.
Responsibilities- Follow production directions and ensure products are packed using the correct combination and volumes of WIP.
- Maintain the highest level of quality throughout production, through compliance with relevant Food Safety legislation, standards and requirements.
- Follow the 'Clean As You Go' policy at all times to ensure the department operates to the highest standards of hygiene.
- Carry out hourly production checks and report any issues immediately to the Area Shift Leader or the Area Manager.
- Monitor the effectiveness of machinery and equipment, and when there is an issue, elevate through the appropriate channels (e.g. report breakdowns to Engineering).
- Promote a people‑safe culture within the department, comply with policies and procedures, and report any safety issues and plant damage through the appropriate procedures.
- Minimise waste of raw materials, products, packaging, chemicals and water while undertaking duties within the department.
- Undertake training and assist with training of other colleagues.
- Warehouse experience on a skilled role preferable.
- Experience in a similar role, working independently with minimum supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work to targets in a fast‑paced environment.
- Good literacy and numeracy, able to understand, communicate and report clearly in English.
- Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to shifts.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and standing for long periods.
