Overview
A 3,000 sign-on bonus is available for new Full-Time Afternoon Registered Nurses (RN) working the 3:00pm to 11:00pm schedule. The Citadel of Northbrook is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team. The RN assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of residents for a shift of duty. Nursing care is provided through assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.

- Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
- Provides and receives nursing reports upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
- Ensures assigned work area (nurse station, medication cart, medication room, etc.), resident care rooms and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
- Directs and supervises the day-to-day certified nursing assistant services for the assigned unit to ensure care is rendered in accordance with current standards and regulations.
- Takes and records residents’ blood pressure and vital signs; administers catheter care; administers IV therapy as ordered within license limitations; provides respiratory care (e.g., oxygen, nebulizer treatments).
- Receives and transcribes physician’s orders to resident charts, MAR, and treatment/care plans as required.
- Prepares and administers medications and performs treatments as ordered by the physician.
- Documents nurses notes accurately reflecting care provided and resident response.
- Counts all controlled drugs with the nurse at shift change and reports discrepancies.
- Maintains a safe resident environment and addresses potential safety risks.
- Provides written and oral reports/recommendations regarding shift activities as required.
- Admits, transfers and/or discharges residents as needed to meet individual needs while maintaining overall safety.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Understanding and adherence to infection control standards, policies and procedures.
- Flexibility in work schedule with occasional overnight travel.
- Basic computer knowledge and aptitude to learn company applications.
- Bilingual candidates (English/Russian) strongly encouraged to apply.
- Current CPR Certification required.
- Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college or university.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
- Long-Term care experience preferred.
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine motor coordination, pushing and pulling, with or without assistive devices.
- Moderate exposure to environmental hazards; adherence to safety standards required.
