Job Description
As a Nordstrom Rack team member, you'll move and collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all customers. You will help ensure a quick and easy customer experience, keep the store clean and clutter‑free, and may occasionally work in different areas to maintain floor and stockroom cleanliness.
Responsibilities- Work with the team to keep the sales floor runway ready, re‑merchandising and straightening throughout the day.
- Assist customers during cashiering with a variety of transactions across in‑store, online, and mobile platforms; operate a point‑of‑sale system, bag items of all sizes, handle bulky and sometimes heavy items, and ensure a seamless and friendly experience.
- Create a smooth fitting‑room experience by greeting and assisting customers and sorting and returning clothing to the floor.
- Keep stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
- Demonstrate expertise in all technologies used in the store environment.
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards.
- Promote initiatives, such as Nordstrom Rewards, to customers.
- Receive, unload, unpack, and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments.
- Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner while following quality and shipping standards.
- Utilize inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments in accordance with inventory control processes.
- Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
- Provide general support to the store, e.g., set up special events, organize the backroom, markdowns, and relocate store fixtures.
- Clear, effective communication with strong interpersonal skills.
- Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching to handle merchandise and assist customers.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Handle bulky and sometimes awkwardly shaped items, including reaching for and lifting items above the head.
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. For Stock and Fulfillment only, frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
$17.45 – $18.15 per hour, depending on location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
