Position Summary
The Office Registered Nurse, under the general supervision of the providers and the Clinical Office Supervisor, is responsible for providing optimal patient care, being accessible to patients, maintaining a high level of knowledge, and working amicably with other staff members. The primary focus is telephone triage, managing a patient’s call to determine the urgency of the medical issue, the level of staff or provider response required, the appropriate location if the patient needs to be seen, and the timing of appointment scheduling.
This role collaborates with the healthcare team to provide quality care. Critical thinking skills assist in the assessment of the patient’s needs to determine the right place, right time and right next step for care.
- Graduate from an approved Professional Nursing Education Program.
- Current RN license to practice professional nursing in the State of Vermont is required.
- BLS training preferred.
- One to three years of hospital nursing experience or office nursing experience preferred.
This is a bargaining union position.
