The Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 6 class, guiding pupils through their final year of primary school and preparing them for a smooth transition to secondary education.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the Key Stage 2 curriculum
  • Preparing pupils for end of Key Stage 2 SATs with confidence and care
  • Using assessment effectively to track progress and inform next steps
  • Providing targeted support and challenge for all learners, including SEND and higher attainers
  • Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing during this important transition year
  • Working closely with the parallel Year 6 teacher, support staff, and leadership team
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school, including clubs, trips, and enrichment opportunities
Candidate Requirements

The school is seeking a teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience in Upper Key Stage 2 (preferably Year
    6), or a strong desire to teach this phase
  • Demonstrates a secure understanding of the KS2 curriculum and assessment expectations
  • Has high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour
  • Is organised, reflective, and committed to ongoing professional development
  • Builds positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents
  • Brings energy, positivity, and a proactive approach to teaching
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with strong potential are also encouraged to apply.
Salary and Contract Details
