Job Summary
International Language Services Ltd is recruiting an experienced Director of Studies for a fully residential English language programme at the University of Nottingham's University Park Campus.
The programme will host 80 Saudi male students aged 11 to 17, accompanied by 18 client supervisors, from 5 to 31 July 2026. English lessons are delivered Monday to Friday mornings, with students studying in five classes grouped by level. ILS does not deliver an activity programme as the client supervisors deliver an afternoon training and sports programme to the students.
The Director of Studies will lead all aspects of academic delivery, managing a team of five teachers and ensuring the programme is delivered to a high professional standard. The role also forms part of the senior leadership team and works closely with the Centre Manager to support the overall operation of the programme.

- Staff Team: 5 EFL Teachers, 1 Director of Studies, 1 Centre Manager
- Accommodation:
Single en-suite rooms in Ancaster Hall - Teaching: 15 hours per week of English language tuition delivered Monday to Friday
- Lead and manage the academic programme throughout the summer
- Induct, support and supervise the teaching team
- Organise student placement testing and class allocation
- Monitor teaching quality through observations, feedback and teacher support
- Oversee timetabling, attendance records, reports, certificates and academic administration
- Ensure lessons are communicative, engaging and appropriate for the student profile
- Lead teacher meetings and maintain clear communication within the academic team
- Handle academic queries and classroom issues professionally and efficiently
- Work closely with the Centre Manager on all aspects of programme delivery
- Support wider centre operations where required, including safeguarding, welfare and operational problem solving
- Act as academic lead during arrivals, placement procedures and the end‑of‑course celebration
- Help ensure the programme is delivered in accordance with client expectations and contractual commitments
- Previous Director of Studies, Assistant Director of Studies or equivalent academic management experience
- Experience teaching English as a Foreign Language in a UK summer school setting
- CELTA, Trinity TESOL or equivalent recognised TEFL qualification
- Degree or equivalent professional experience
- Understanding of safeguarding, welfare and health and safety procedures in an under‑18 environment
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- DELTA or equivalent
- £761.57 per week (gross)
- ≈ $1,023 / €881
