BSG is currently seeking a qualified Security Officer for our Incident Response Team at a prestigious private University in Oakland. This full-time schedule includes one (1) day assignment as a Shift Supervisor. Applicants with Supervisory experience will be prioritized. Security Officers on the Incident Response Team play a critical role in maintaining a secure campus environment. The ideal candidate will be equipped with specialized skills in de-escalation and crisis management, ensuring the safety and well‑being of our university community.
This position requires a strong commitment to proactive security measures, effective communication, and rapid response to incidents. The Incident Response Team is staffed twenty‑four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. The Incident Response Team is directly responsible for the accurate documentation of routine and unusual events occurring on or near the facilities. The team must maintain an expert level of knowledge of the campus rules and always provide professional interactions that promote safety to, and confidence from, the people that encompass the property.
- Shift: Full Time Swing (Monday through Friday).
- Hourly Rate: $29.50 per hour, includes Shift Supervisor (1-day) $31.00 per hour.

- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Possess a current California Guard Card License.
- A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record for 3 years is required.
- Reliable transportation is necessary.
- Proficient in basic computer and smartphone usage.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to create accurate reports; additional language skills are a plus.
- Strong listening skills, patience, and compassion, particularly when interacting with community members experiencing emotional or psychological challenges.
- Ability to remain calm in crisis situations, think critically, de‑escalate conflicts, and communicate effectively.
- Maintain a positive, professional demeanor in adherence to all laws, regulations, company policies, and confidentiality standards.
- Ensure compliance with both company and client policies and procedures while being open to performance improvement.
- Possess a clear understanding of emergency response procedures and protocols.
- At least one year of experience in security, mobile patrol, or event staff roles.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
