Position: Substitute Teacher 2026-2027 (FZ returning retiree)

Requirements:
Must meet ONE of these requirements:

1. Be a Certified Teacher

OR

2. Must have completed at least 36 college credit hours and have or will obtain a Substitute Certificate from DESE (Dept of Elementary and Secondary Education). Upon hire, links and instructions for this will be supplied.

OR

3. (in lieu of 36 college credit hours) Register and complete the 20 hours of online training to be a substitute teacher available through Frontline Education. Training is available at the link below (just copy & paste).

Substitute Teacher

Responsibility

Delivering group and/or individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines;

Manages student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment.

Models conversation, manners, cleanup activities, listening skills, etc. for the purpose of demonstrating
appropriate social and interpersonal behavior.

Monitors students in a variety of educational environments (e.g. classroom, playground, field trips, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.

Organizes age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities for the purpose of ensuring student participation in learning activities.

Reports incidents (e.g. fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, etc.) for the purpose of
maintaining the personal safety of students, providing a positive learning environment and adhering to Education Code and school policies.

Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.

Working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods

Other Functions
Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Experience:

Job related experience is highly recommended.

Education:

Minimum 36 credit hours or approved 20 hour online training course
Certificates/ Licenses:
Missouri State Teaching Certificate or Missouri Substitute Certificate
Clearances:
Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance and Family Care Safety Registry

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Substitute Teacher:
As needed/called by the district.
Daily Rate: $150 per day

Loyalty incentive - $100 for every quarter in which you sub the equivalent of 20 days
