We are seeking a NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) Field Service Technician to support the non destructive inspection of combustion and steam turbines and generators as well as balance of plant at our customers power plants. These will be on site field activities thru the application of inspection systems and procedures. Siemens Energy provides these procedure/techniques and tools that allow us to serve customer needs.

Prepare for and support field service jobs at power plants located domestically and internationallyPrepare shipments and test equipment for service jobsBe the liaison between Siemens Energy and the Customer during the outagesStay current with technology and certifications – investigate new NDE technologiesAssist in the development of NDE applicationsBecome a leader in OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specialty testing of large rotating equipment
What You Bring
CGSB (Canadian General Standards Board) NDT Level II or III Certification or equivalent (or US equivalent) in VT (Visual and Borescope), MT (Magnaflux), PT (Penetrant), UT (Ultrasound) and ET (Eddy Current) methods required5 or more years of NDE-related work experience required
* Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versaKnowledge related to the inspection of turbine/generator components preferredPhased array UT, automated NDE or remote visual inspection experience a plusTravel (up to 75% annually for this position) to power stations to perform the field NDE activities requiredFlexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedule and priorities for multiple projects or assignmentsMust be self driven and resourceful to achieve goals and work independently or with a groupMust be able to pass extended background check to be able to work unescorted at nuclear facilities
