Job Summary:
This promotional recruitment is open to current classified employees and is a 12‑month, 8‑hour/day position in the Information Technology Department. Under the direction of the Chief Technology Officer and in collaboration with other department staff, the incumbent supports the daily use and maintenance of applications and systems; implements and maintains information technology systems; and performs related work as required.
- Support the daily use and maintenance of applications and systems.
- Implement and maintain information technology systems.
- Troubleshoot and maintain systems including servers, personal computers, displays, related peripherals, operating systems, application software, and general network cabling and infrastructure.
- Train and assist users in the operation of personal computer systems.
- Install and prepare computer equipment and software for use.
- Operate personal computers and peripheral equipment skillfully.
- Prepare clear, complete, and concise reports.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with stakeholders.
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Plan and organize work, establish priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Manage multiple, concurrent, and conflicting priorities and deadlines.
- Work cooperatively with a diverse population.
- At least two years of college‑level training in computer science and systems analysis combined with at least two years of increasingly responsible, recent, and varied work experience in systems support.
- Elective bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of data processing principles, practices, and computer and network technology.
- Experience with modern computer hardware, software, and systems.
- Experience with systems analysis, programming, and program documentation.
- Data processing capabilities and applications pertinent to school district administration.
- Proficiency with the computer languages and software applications used in the district.
- Operation of computers and query capabilities of database management systems.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
- Ability to analyze complex data and use a variety of software for servers and microcomputer systems.
- Ability to train and assist users in the operation of personal computer systems.
- Ability to install and prepare computer equipment and software for use.
- Ability to skillfully operate personal computers and peripheral equipment, and keep abreast of changing computer technology.
- Ability to prepare clear, complete, and concise reports and communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships, understand and carry out instructions, plan and organize work, and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse population, including different ethnic, cultural, educational, and economic backgrounds.
