The Admissions Office provides support to students, faculty, staff, parents, counselors and other clients in the areas of admission and residency. As one of the first departments that students will interact with, the Admissions Office prides itself on its ability to welcome all incoming students with excellent customer service.
- Provide in-depth customer service to students, faculty, staff, parents, and counselors in person, over the phone and email.
- Effectively respond to incoming phone calls and check work email consistently throughout the shift.
- Daily packaging and mailing of admissions office materials.
- Recording and entry of transcripts, test scores and reports into a student information system, and other clerical duties as assigned.
This part‑time hourly position continues year round. It is a Monday through Friday 4‑hour/day position with Morning, Midday, and Afternoon shifts. Office hours are 8 AM–5 PM Monday–Thursday and 8 AM–4:30 PM Friday.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills
- Available during shift times for office coverage
- FERPA training within three months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Customer service experience
- Strong communication and composition skills
- Weber State knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Banner
- Reliable, detail oriented and self‑motivated
- Willingness to learn and respectfully receive correction
Physical Activity of this position:
Operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position. Expressing or exchanging ideas. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important instructions to other workers accurately or quickly. Ability to receive detailed information with or without assistance.
Physical Requirements of this position:
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or consistently to move objects, including the human body. Sitting most of the time. Walking and standing only occasionally if ever.
Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.

None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
