Job Summary

As the Engineering Automation Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS), you will supervise automation engineers and execute assignments in support of engineering. You will interpret, organize, and coordinate these assignments, explore new concepts, and develop novel solutions. You will interface with software development and integration teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and the client, supporting the USAF Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase.

Responsibilities
  • The candidate will interface and coordinate with other engineering disciplines and the client in developing Project Information in the shared digital engineering environment.
  • The position will review and approve key engineering automation documents and require broad knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines and functions within an EPC project.
  • Provides supervision, technical guidance, and performance feedback to the team. Responsible for cross‑functional coordination and integration methods in alignment with the Project Delivery Program, including, but not limited to:
    • 3D Model Development
    • 4D Integrated Schedule
    • Integrated Digital Environment (IDE) alignment
    • 5D Integrated Cost
    • Support for an innovative culture
  • Maintain the Project Information Model within the Integrated Digital Environment, including design models, drawings, and other non‑graphical data.
  • Coordinate formal or informal design (model) reviews with all key stakeholders and manage discipline work process execution, ensuring technical adequacy per procedures, contract, and industry codes and standards.
  • Build an inclusive team environment where all are able and expected to contribute to the maximum of their capabilities.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement, team building, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment with limited oversight.
  • Interface with the ultimate USAF client/customer for Northrop Grumman on technical issue studies, resolutions, and recommendations.
  • Review and approve key engineering documents related to the engineering automation discipline.
  • Coordinate procurement and management of engineering software licenses for the project.
  • Coordinate with IS&T regarding hardware and software requirements for the project, and administer and maintain the project BIM Content Library, Standards, Methods & Protocols.
  • Ensure data can be fully utilized by data customers as required and that project data complies with project information standards and protocols, and is compatible with the IDE.
  • Support the SME’s in setting up necessary application integration and data exchange requirements for the project.
  • Oversee and coordinate detailed review of Lead Designer/Contractor models to identify issues that could affect Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Start‑up/Turn‑over.
  • Develop training plans for BIM tools and processes with the Project Functions.
  • Extract model information for use by the Project team.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • BS degree in related Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university with at least 9 years of relevant experience, OR AA degree in related Engineering or Computer Science with at least 11 years of relevant experience; OR a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 15 years related design experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Experience in digital delivery of EPC projects and management of Project Information in a digital delivery environment.
  • Significant experience working within an EPC project with strong understanding of cross‑functional EPC work processes and the applications used for project execution.
  • Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the customer.
  • Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods.
