Stantec seeks to engage a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer / Mine Water Treatment Specialist on an hourly, as‑needed basis. This role will leverage a distinguished expert with specialized experience in mine water and industrial wastewater treatment to support project teams with advanced technical expertise and high‑level technical reviews. The individual will contribute flexibly and intermittently, as required by project needs, to ensure technical excellence in complex water treatment projects.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Specialized Technical Leadership:
Provide expert guidance in design and optimization of mine‑impacted water treatment systems, including conceptual process design, physicochemical process modeling, and innovative treatment strategies - Treatability & Pilot Study Support:
Advise and assist project teams in planning and executing bench‑scale treatability studies and pilot plant testing, evaluating results to refine treatment approaches and ensure solutions meet stringent environmental standards. - Technical Review & Quality Assurance:
Serve as a senior technical reviewer for reports, designs, and proposals related to water treatment processes, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and alignment with industry best practices.
- Minimum of a 4‑year degree required – Masters or PhD preferred.
- Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in mine water or industrial wastewater treatment engineering, including strong proficiency in physicochemical modeling, chemical process optimization, and design of large‑scale water treatment systems.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high‑level technical counsel, led by influence, and collaborate effectively with diverse project teams. Excellent communication skills for technical mentoring and stakeholder engagement.
