General Description:
Data Processing Specialist shall conduct and maintain data entry and client services for the Transition Assistance Program (TAP). Administer the timely and accurate input of congressionally mandated documentation for the Transition Assistance Program and provide technical assistance to users of the Transition Resource Center.

Specific Tasks:
• Receive telephone calls, greet visitors, ascertain the nature of the call or visit, direct clients to the appropriate program manager in the Airman and Family Readiness Center (A&FRC), schedule clients for A&FRC classes and provide complete and clear information that addresses most routine or procedural issues.
• Administer the timely and accurate input of congressionally mandated documentation for the Transition Assistance Program. Responsible for the accurate collection, input, inventory, maintenance and tracking of all forms within the Transition Assistance Program.
• In coordination with the TAP Core Compliance Expert, you shall review the attendance registration for transition assistance workshops, create and disseminate pertinent information and inquiries to program participants for the collection and entry of data for statistical reports and transition workshop registration. Accurately input customer information into the Air Force Family Integrated Reporting and Statistical Tracking (AFFIRST) system.
• Maintain the appearance of the Front Desk/TAP Resource Center. Align chairs, keyboards, materials, publications, resources on a daily basis and report inoperable equipment to A&FRC management.
• Provide technical assistance to users of the TAP Resource Center, assisting in the operation of computer-based programs, as specified in requirements below, and other programs available to transitioning personnel. Serve as initial point of contact for all transition related software, hardware, and user problems to include network issues.
• Ensure workstations and network software remains virus free. Review and submit locally developed software to the WGM. Will not install or modify any equipment or software without prior approval from WGM. This includes any software downloaded from the World Wide Web (www) or vendor bulletin board systems (BBS).
• Maintain network integrity. Permits only authorized users to access the A&FRC Customer Wi-Fi and Internet Service Provider (ISP) accounts.
• Maintain system documentation (maintains memory and application configuration; maintains network schema, checklists, and systems operations logbook.
• Control communication access to the wide area network. Perform routine system maintenance and weekly system backups.
• Ensure maintenance of accountability statistics on resources used by clients; develop charts, logs, and statistical summaries as directed by the A&FRC management.
• Ensure all clients completely fill out sign-in log and generate a monthly client usage report in the format established by A&FRC management not later than the fifth working day of the next month.
• Maintain computer security at all times to include the following:
a) TAP Resource Center clients only access authorized programs using the main menu.
b) Access on-line programs under the direct supervision of the contractor or TAP.
c) Document /report all computer software/hardware malfunctions or abuse to the WGM.
Position Requirements
Bachelor,   1 to 2 Years work experience
• Must be proficient in applying and troubleshooting Microsoft Office Suite applications to include MS Windows, MS Word, MS excel, MS PowerPoint and must quickly become proficient on other available resource software in order to maintain integrated reports using Microsoft Word with Excel spreadsheet and data analysis.
• Basic communication skills appropriate in the professional environment of the A&FRC. Therefore, a minimum of 12 college credit hours in social work or social services is required; or a minimum of one-year experience working in an Air Force A&FRC or a similar helping service agency environment will be a suitable substitute.
• Basic understanding of military protocol, support group organizations, understanding of family systems in a military setting, ability to communicate, and work effectively with diverse groups.
• Speak, write and understand the English language fluently. Provide certificate to confirm English proficiency level.
