This position is primarily responsible for ensuring proper documentation is in place to establish a legally binding contract with borrowers and for establishing monitoring for ongoing affirmative covenant requirements. The position is also responsible for securing liens on collateral, and ensuring loans comply with internal bank policies, as well as federal and state regulations. Tracks exceptions and advises lending staff on documentation issues.


* Audits all commercial and private banking loans to validate all documentation was created and returned for imaging and storage.
* Analyzes loan transactions to determine required documentation based on bank and regulatory policies.
* Establishes loan-closing checklists detailing proper documentation requirements.
* Advises commercial lenders on various policies and legal matters relating to proper documentation.
* Ensures proper perfection of collateral (includes transfer of liens, mortgages, assignment of rents, etc. to appropriate recording agencies).
* Ensures holds are placed on deposit accounts and possessory collateral is properly dispensed.
* Prepares loan packets for imaging.
* Audits all completed loan packets to ensure proper approval is obtained and all policies were followed.
* Enters follow-up items and exceptions into tracking system with appropriate tickler dates.

Review incoming documents to clear exceptions and update tracking system accordingly

Position Requirements:


* Bachelor's degree in a business related field with at least one year of loan documentation auditing experience preferred.
* Three or more years of loan processing experience, including loan document preparation, may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree.

* Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills are required.
* Ability to make sound decisions and produce great work under general or limited supervision.
* Strong working knowledge of more complex commercial style transactions.
* Strong Working knowledge of credit agreement covenants, loan documentation in multiple states, Article 9, UCC, Regulations B, C, Z, RESPA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other federal and state regulations.
* Strong Working knowledge of commercial and consumer lending policies.
* Excellent PC skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, and programs used to setup and track ticklers.
* Ability to adjust priorities to changing circumstances and maintain quality in fast paced atmosphere.
* Great organization skills, very detailed oriented.
